White water canoeing is the perfect activity if you are looking for a challenging and fun adventure out in the Icelandic nature. The canoes are inflated and self bailing, meaning that they do not fill with water and are easy to maneuver. Two or three people sit together in the canoe and paddle it down the river under the watchful eye of a guide in a raft. We paddle down Hvítá river which has a perfectly balanced mix of serene canyons and adrenaline pumping waves and rapids. We travel for 7 kilometers and at one point participants get to jump from a cliff into the river.
We only recommend this trip to those looking for action and are in good physical condition.
The River Ride is a great action trip, specially for those with some experience in rafting.

GUARANTEED DEPARTURES:
In the high season (May 15th - Sept 15th): Everyday at 08:00 or 12:00 from Reykjavik and if you have your own transportation we depart at 10:00 or 14:00 from Drumbó basecamp. No minimum participation is required.
In the shoulder seasons (May 1st - 14th & Sept 16th - 30th): Everyday at 08:00 or 12:00 from Reykjavik and 10:00 or 14:00 from Drumbó basecamp for minimum 4 persons. If you are only two persons, contact us to join another group.

Bring with you: A warm sweater (which will most likely get wet),bathing suit, spare clothing and a towel. No knowledge of the sport required.
