Here is your chance to visit a glacier and not just any glacier, this trip will take you to the frozen glacial tongue that is Sólheimajökull. It is an magnificent phenomenon, rugged, raw and ever changing hub of ancient frozen water. We will explore the crevasse riddled outlet glacier with it amazing ice formations, sink holes and jagged ridges. Along the way we will find an ice wall on the glacier and try our hand at ice climbing. We will provide you with all the tools you need: ice axes, crampons and safety lines. As we drive back to Reykjavik we will stop at the beautiful Skógafoss waterfall.

Guaranteed departures: Everyday at 8:30 - 9:00 AM from Reykjavík from the 15th of May to the 15th of September.
If you have your own transport and want to meet us, than the meeting time is 11:30 and the meeting place is at the parking lot at the Sólheimajökull glacier, a left turn a about 5 minutes after passing the Skógafoss waterfall when travelling from Reykjavik.

Add 1.000ISK to rent hiking shoes.
Included: a glacier hike on Sólheimajökull, an introduction to ice climbing, glacier gear and packed lunch.
We recommend you bring your own water bottle.

Duration of trip: approx 4 without pick-up. 10 hours with transfer from Reykjavík and back.

Age limit: 14 years or shoe size EUR 35 (for crampons).
Bring with you: Warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants, head wear and gloves. Good hiking shoes are recommended!
