Hike
the Mt. Esja and witness an unsurpassed panoramic view of Reykjavík and
its surroundings. Mt. Esja is 914 meters high and the ascent is a
relatively easy, approximately a 90 minute hike. Walking on a good path
from sea level by the Kollafjörður fjord until standing on the top
where you can look into the mouth of Hvalfjörður fjord. With hot
chocolate in your hand you can also sneak a peak at the Snæfellsjökull
glacier (Jule Verne´s gate to the center of the earth) and the
intimidating North Atlantic Sea.

jacket and pants, gloves and headwear. Good hiking shoes are vital!
