The Hot Spring Hunt

Hot Spring Hunt
Hiking up to the hot river near Hveragerði village.
Trip difficulty 2 out of 5 possible.

Category: Daytrip, available directly from Reykjavik in Iceland.

We start our hike at the outskirts of Hveragerði, where they actually grow fruits in naturally heated greenhouses. Our wandering will take us into the beautiful valley of Reykjadalur.(Steam Valley). From the Helliheiði mountain hot water flows down the valley and creates the ideal place to relax in an untouched natural hot stream. The valley also has an amazing variety of geothermal springs and you will see every thing from small gurgling melting pots to vibrant super heated pools of water. After walking past these wonders of nature we hike back down towards Hveragerði. This is a great half-day trek that everyone can participate in.

Get in touch with the pure Icelandic nature on your own two feet.
