Ice climbing is a challenging but very fun sport for anyone ready to
challenge themselves against a glacier ice wall.
We offer ice climbing
trips from Reykjavík as a part of our Blue
Ice trip. We start with a glacier hike as we make our way higher up
on the outlet glacier of Sólheimajökull. Our experienced guides are
happy to explain the interesting ice phenomena we´ll see on our way. As
we approach a potential area on the glacer, the guide starts looking for
a good ice wall to set up a rope for the climbing.
Those who are up for
a climb are free to try and the guide will give you some instructions
before you start. After the climb we´ll head back after our full on
glacier experience. This is for sure one of our best Iceland
experiences.
