rafting on the Markarfljót River, through its towering and magical
canyon, surrounded by glaciers on three sides, is without a doubt our most scenic rafting trip!
The trip starts up in the Icelandic highlands so we need to use a
specially equipped vehicle to get there. The canyon is about 50 meters deep
where we start our rafting trip and it gradually gets lower until we cruise past the lush Þórsmörk valley. The river is really winding with is´t thousand turns and has a great supply of medium sized waves
and rapids. This is your chance to have a unique trip where you can
enjoy the majestic nature and at the same time tackle it!

Distance
from Reykjavik: 140 km. Duration of trip: 6-7 hours. Available: June to
September (depending on weather). Minimum: 10 pax. Maximum: 70 pax. Age
limit: 16 years. Bring with you: A warm sweater, swimwear, change
of clothing and a towel. No knowledge of the sport required.
Note: Participants have to carry the raft and hike down into a canyon which makes a total of about 150 meters of downhil hikingl.
