Iceland Elements is an action packed combination day tour. This popular trip offers you the unique possibility of following the Hvítá glacier river all the way from its source at the Langjökull glacier in the south central highlands to the shores of North Atlantic Ocean on Iceland’s south coast. In one day you will experience two of Icelands most popular adventure activities, white water rafting on the Hvítá glacier river and driving a snowmobile on the Langjökull glacier.
We will start from Reykjavík in the early morning and drive through the countryside to our basecamp on the banks of Hvítá River. After gearing up and listening to our rafting guides explaining the basic rafting technique and safety rules we will start our journey down the river. Hvítá and its canyons is a beautiful place and the rafting is great fun! You will even get a chance to leap from the canyon wall into the white water and try some glacier river swimming in Iceland!
After the rafting we will eat lunch in the base camp before heading up to the highlands. Arriving at the Langjökull glacier we gear up in warm overalls and sturdy booties before learning the basics of snowmobile driving. Then we head off onto Iceland’s second biggest glacier; The Langjökull, the glacier is in fact several enormous ice filled volcanic craters, rimmed in by imposing volcanoes and set in the breathtaking Icelandic interior. The views from the glacier flanks of the Langjökull are quite staggering and driving the sleds is like the rafting, great fun and a unique way of exploring this northern nature.
Guaranteed departures: for minimum 2 persons on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8:00 - 8:30 from Reykjavík* from the 15th of May to the 15th of September. For minimum 4 persons on other days.
* If you are staying at one of the many hotels and guesthouses in the city center then your pick up for your tour will be at 8:00 from our Arctic Adventures office at Laugavegur 11. The office is located in the heart of the old city center.

Price: 33.990 ISK per person with 2 persons sharing a snowmobile.
You can add 4.000 ISK per person for a solo snowmobile.
You can add 2.000 ISK for upgrading the rafting for canoing.
Included: pick up from Reykjavík, river rafting on Hvítá River, lunch at the Drumbó basecamp, one hour of snowmobiling with 2 persons sharing on the Langjökull Glacier and snow gear.
Duration of trip: 12 hours.
Available: May 15th – September 15th (depending on weather and glacier conditions).
Minimum number of participants: 2 persons on Wednesdays and Saturdays. 4 persons on other days.
Age limit: 10 years as a passanger on the snowmobile, 12 years for rafting the whole river and 10 years for half of the river.
Bring with you:
For the river rafting part: a warm fleece or wool sweater, bathing suit, change of clothing and a towel.
For the snowmobile part: Warm outdoor clothing. We will lend you all the necessary equipment i.e snow suit and more.
Required: A valid driving license to drive the snow scooter. No prior knowledge of either sport is required.
