Drumbó: South Iceland Rafting Base Camp

Drumbó is the birth place of adventure tourism in Iceland and Arctic Rafting´s base of operation for the Hvítá River in South Iceland. We operate our bestselling trips from here; river rafting: “RiverFun” and canoeing: “RiverRide”. All our rafting combo trips from Reykjavík stop here and eat lunch before going white water rafting.

From Drumbó there are daily rafting and canoe tours from the 15th of April to the 1st of October. In high season from the 15th of May to the 15th of September we run two trips a day, one at 10:00 AM and one at 14:00 PM. Lunch is served from 12:00 to 13:30 during this time.

After shacking up with the local farmers we finally moved into our own housing in 1997 and since then adventurers, Icelandic and foreign have been visiting this cozy countryside boathouse and it´s now famous DrumBar Restaurant.

In Drumbó we have great facilities for welcoming any visitor. Changing rooms, sauna and showers are just some of the services offered there. We also have a restaurant which serves a great Icelandic summer barbeque for groups, sizzling lamb and baked potatoes a speciality, and the bartenders serve you cold beer while you relax!

Drumbó is situated 10 minutes from Geysir Hot Springs and Gullfoss Waterfall, only one hour drive from Reykjavík.
