White water canoeing day tour on the Hvítá River on the famous Golden
Circle.
River difficulty 3+ out of 5 possible
Category: Day trip, available directly from Reykjavik in Iceland.
White water canoeing is a the perfect activity if you are looking for a
challenging adventure out in the Icelandic nature. The canoes are
inflated and selfbailing, meaning that they do not fill with water and
are easy to maneuver. Two or three people sit together in the canoe and
steer it down the river under the watchful eye of a guide in a raft. We
paddle down the Hvítá river which has a perfectly balanced mix of serene
canyons and adrenaline pumping waves and rapids. We travel for 7
kilometers and at one point participants get to jump from a cliff into
the river.
We only recommend this trip to those looking for action and are in good
physical condition.
The RiverRide is a great action trip, specially for those with some
experience in rafting.
