Rafting in the North
In the north of Iceland, we raft in two different glacier rivers; East Glacier River (Jökulsá Austari) and West Glacier River (Vestari-Jökulsá). Both rivers have their origin in Hofsjökull Glacier and run from the glacier to Skagafjörður bay in the north.
The East Glacier River is categorized as grade 4+ river and has been rated one of Europe’s best rafting rivers over the years. Fun, adrenaline pumping rapids and deep canyon is the trademark of the East Glacier river.
The West Glacier River is fairly calm and a great option for the whole family. It runs down a scenic canyon and provides beginners the sweet taste of white water rafting.
